Construction Loss Adjusting

Construction project claims are among the most complex insurance claims. They are rarely limited to visible physical damage on site. They often involve project schedules, contractor responsibilities, variation orders, soft costs, delay consequences and the wider impact of the incident on the planned completion or start-up date. For this reason, a construction claim requires an integrated engineering, insurance and financial review, not only a repair-cost estimate.

River City Technical Consultants, in strategic alliance with Integra Technical Services, provides specialized loss adjusting services for major construction projects across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. The service is designed to support insurers, reinsurers, brokers and project stakeholders with independent, evidence-based assessment of the cause of loss, damage extent, policy coverage and fair claim value.

Types of Claims We Handle

Construction losses may arise from partial collapse, fire, flood, workmanship defects, design issues, machinery damage, unexpected site conditions or failure of a project component. In many cases, the cause of loss is not obvious from the first inspection and requires careful review of drawings, contracts, consultant reports, site records, project schedules, invoices and payment certificates.

  • Construction All Risks CAR claims.

  • Liquidated damages and schedule impact analysis.

Our Adjustment Methodology

Our process begins with understanding the project, its stage of completion at the time of loss and the applicable policy conditions. We then inspect the site, document the damage and collect the required technical and financial records. Each part of the claim is linked back to the actual cause of loss, with a clear separation between insured damage, unrelated works, betterment and pre-existing conditions.

Where a delay element is involved, we review the project schedule, the critical path and the connection between the insured event and the actual delay. Where ALOP is claimed, commercial assumptions, financial records and project contracts are reviewed carefully to determine the recoverable impact.

Value to Stakeholders

The outcome is a clear technical report supported by documents, photographs and analysis. This helps reduce disputes, accelerate decision-making and improve communication between local insurers, international reinsurers, brokers and project owners.
